Turner Entertainment “My South” campaign

Turner Entertainment was looking to change the image of their regional cable network, Turner South. Up until this point they had been using typical Southern stereotypes in their My South image campaign but in a tongue-in-cheek, self-aware way. I created storyboards and pitched two new promo spots to add to their My South campaign that focused on the aerospace accomplishments of the South. The president, production manager and creative services director all loved the idea and gave me the green light to move forward with the project. I wrote, produced and edited (on Avid Media Composer) this project, did all the archival footage research and pulled footage from the CNN library (part of the Turner Entertainment family). I also oversaw VoiceOver sessions with two separate voice over artists but ultimately chose the one you hear in the video above. This first spot was called “My South: Dream of Flight.”

The promo went on to win a Gold Aurora Award.
